    UNIT TITLE: PERFORM ELECTRICAL HOME APPLIANCE REPAIRING

    UNIT CODE: CONElM2012A2

    UNIT DESCRIPTOR: This unit covers the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to perform electrical home appliance repairing. It includes preparing for works, repairing exhaust fan, electric iron, ceiling fan, wall mounted fan, electric rice cooker, electric oven, water pump and maintaining workplace, tools, equipment and materials.

    NOMINAL HOURS: 70 Hours

    LEARNING OUTCOME: At the end of this session, learners will be able to-

    In addition to the online course . Physical demonstration is mandatory for this course , so i should go for Blended Course.
    Lets go for 3 week of online course and 1 week of face to face training ( Blended Course ) .

    Total Course :   21 days

    Online Course :  2 Week 

                               ( 5 days per week for 1 hour ) 

                                   ( Saturday - Wednesday )

    Face to Face : 1 Week 

                             ( 5 days daily 3 hours and 

                                         1 day final assessment for 5 hour )

    Personal Protective Equipment, commonly referred to as "PPE", is equipment worn to minimize exposure to hazards that cause serious workplace injuries and illnesses. These injuries and illnesses may result from contact with chemical, radiological, physical, electrical, mechanical, or other workplace hazards. Personal Protective Equipment may include items such as below:

    • Helmet
    • Safety goggles
    • Safety belt with harness
    • Apron
    • Hand gloves
    • Safety shoe

    1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is collected and worn as per job requirement.
    2. Workplace is prepared as per job requirement.
    3. Tools and materials are selected and collected as per job requirement.

  • Elements of Competency: Repair exhaust fan

    1. Continuity is checked from power supply to switch using test lamp / AVO-meter.
    2. Continuity of starting coil and running coil is checked using series lamp / AVO-meter.
    3. Capacitor is checked using series lamp.
    4. Abnormal sound and high temperature of the fan is checked.
    5. Faults of the fan are identified as per checked result.
    6. Faults of the fan are listed and repaired the all faults of fan.
    7. Performance of the exhaust fan is checked through switched ON / OFF.

  • Elements of Competency: Repair electric iron

    1. Continuity is checked from power supply to switch using test lamp/AVO-meter.
    2. Auto thermostat contact is checked using Avo-meter.
    3. Heating coil (element) is checked using series lamp / Avo-meter.
    4. Faults of the iron are identified as per checked result.
    5. Faults of the iron are listed and repaired the all faults of iron.
    6. Performance of electric iron is checked through switched ON / OFF.

  • Elements of Competency: Repair ceiling fan

    1. Continuity is checked from power supply to switch using test lamp / AVO-meter.
    2. Continuity of starting coil and running coil is checked using series lamp / AVO-meter.
    3. Capacitor is checked using series lamp.
    4. Abnormal sound and high temperature of the fan is checked.
    5. Faults of fan are identified as per checked result.
    6. Faults of fan are listed and repaired all faults of fan.
    7. Performance of the ceiling fan is checked through switched ON / OFF.

  • Elements of Competency: Repair wall mounted fan

    1. Continuity is checked from power supply to switch using test lamp / AVO-meter.
    2. Continuity of starting coil and running coil is checked using series lamp / AVO-meter.
    3. Capacitor is checked using series lamp.
    4. Abnormal sound and high temperature of the fan is checked.
    5. Faults of the fan are identified as per checked result.
    6. Faults of fan are listed and repaired all faults of fan.
    7. Performance of the wall mounted fan is checked through switched ON / OFF.

  • Elements of Competency: Repair electric rice cooker

    1. Continuity is checked from power supply to switch using test lamp / AVO-meter.
    2. Auto thermostat contact is checked using Avo-meter.
    3. Heating coil (element) is checked using series lamp / Avo-meter.
    4. Faults of the electric rice cooker are identified as per checked result.
    5. Faults of the electric rice cooker are listed and repaired the all faults of iron.
    6. Performance of electric rice cooker is checked through switched ON / OFF.

  • Elements of Competency: Repair electric oven

    1. Continuity is checked from power supply to switch using test lamp / AVO-meter.
    2. Auto thermostat contact is checked using Avo-meter.
    3. Heating coil (element) is checked using series lamp/ Avo-meter.
    4. Ignitor and transformer are checked using Avometer.
    5. Faults of the electric woven are identified as per checked result.
    6. Faults of the electric woven are listed and repaired the all faults of iron.
    7. Performance of electric woven is checked through switched ON / OFF.

  • Elements of Competency: Repair water pump

    1. Continuity is checked from power supply to switch using test lamp / AVO-meter.
    2. Auto thermostat contact is checked using Avo-meter.
    3. Starting coil, running coil and capacitor are checked using Avo-meter / testing lamp.
    4. Abnormal sound and high temperature of the fan is checked.
    5. Faults of the water pump are identified as per checked result.
    6. Faults of the water pump are listed and repaired the all faults of iron.
    7. Performance of water pump is checked through switched ON / OFF.

  • Elements of Competency: Maintain workplace, tools, equipment and materials

    1. Work area is cleaned in accordance with workplace procedures.
    2. Unused materials are stored for re-use or disposed following workplace procedures.
    3. Waste and scrap materials are disposed with following workplace procedures.
    4. Inventory of tools equipment are conducted and recorded as per checklist.
    5. Tools and equipment are cleaned and stored as per manufacturer's recommendation in appropriate location.
