Persona's needs/skills/attitude/environment/behavior:
Let me pick one of the ‘Personas’ in order to create an inclusive and successful training experience online. I strongly believe that this learning experience design process will help me develop my training design with empathy, personalize my training contents and will give me the confidence to achieve the desired learning outcomes in a human centered and goal-oriented way. I am now sharing my reflection on “Girija of Sri Lanka” as learner personas in order to connect myself with the group of learners who will take my training, understanding their needs and this can lead to more effective and imaginative ways to create an online training experience for them.

What should be included into my eLessons considering above personas:
Let me imagine that the personas I have picked above, represent beneficiary, my target group of my online training. As online learning remains the new normal, it is critical for me to deploy best practice strategies to make this experience inclusive and welcoming for my beneficiaries’. Considering their needs, skills, attitude, environment & behavior (as stated above), I will develop “Online SIYB training packages” for them with target group adaptations (women entrepreneurship) and sector adaptation (green business). This will give them the knowledge and skills to increase the profitability and the productivity of the organization where they may pursue their job in future, while boosting up their entrepreneurial abilities so that they can also become self-employed and/or continue to help other women entrepreneurs more effectively. In line with this, while designing my eLessons for the above personas, I will focus on the following major considerations:
- Cultivate their self-knowledge:
- I will give my target group a chance to discover, define and reflect upon their personal learnings goals and needs to allow them develop self-awareness through easy/simple use of technology which can support their independence and self-advocacy.
- I will make sure that all the requirements of the online training program and its deadlines should be very clear to understand for each of them, but also flexible in order to accommodate them in difficult home situations.
- Promote Diversity & Inclusion:
- I will encourage discussing differences in thinking styles, ways of knowing, skill-sets, knowledge bases, and how we can all learn from those differences. This will boost their self-worth.
- I will strongly promote diversity and inclusion, and invite them to participate meaningfully during the online session.
- Helping them towards the next level:
- I will consider offering a regularly scheduled virtual session to provide a face-to-face Q&A time and always available to help them even outside of normal hours for sustainable outcomes.
- I will be responsive for them to collaboratively work with their support network on playful and engaging activities to create an inclusive and result-driven learning experience online to take the journey forward towards the next level.
